Sunday - 11 March 2012 - At Sea - South Pacific

Sunday – 11 March 2012 – At Sea in South Pacific

Breezy and overcast – weather is warming up.  Slept in till 7:30 am – had breakfast on the back deck of the ship – very pleasant and not too rocky.

Patte and I decide to go to Beginner’s Bridge this morning – we really enjoy it. There are quite a few people and the instructor is very good.   It will be held every sea day.

After Bridge -- Dave and I were going to watch a Great Course Lecture on James Joyce – but for some reason it doesn't work in my computer.   We have decided watch them separately on the DVD players in our rooms.   I think I would rather watch the lectures than read Ulysses.

Lunch at 12:30 in the Terrace Café – we are all eating very healthy.  The fruit and vegetables on this ship are second to none.  Everything is so fresh – there is no reason not to eat healthy.

Trivia at 4:00 pm – we don’t do as well – at least we are not in the top three – tomorrow we’ll do better.

The Captains’ Cocktail Party is at 5:45 pm – with complimentary drinks and snacks and dancing.   As part of this celebration there are complimentary drinks in two of the bars from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  That is amazing.  We have noticed a lot more free things than the last time we cruised on Oceania.  All the water and soft drinks are free – whether in your cabin or out and about.   This Captain’s Party was one of the best –

Tonite we dine in Toscana – at 8:30 pm. or so we thought.  Captain Steubing aka Phil investigated and found they had a table which we were welcome to at 7:00 pm --- perfect.    The meal in Toscana was great.  I had Dover Sole – others had Veal, Lobster all equally as good.

We are all exhausted after dinner.  These sea days are tough – doing nothing has way of wearing one out.

13 Mar 2012 – Kingdom of Tonga -- Please bear with me as posting the photos takes more internet power than is available in the Kingdom.   As soon as possible I’ll post the photos.

Thanks for Reading.
